STUDIO F.A.C.E. is the collaborative practice of New York Based composer Shiuan Chang and interior designer Yuanyuan Ma.
Shiuan investigates the relationship between states of motion and sound, while Yuanyuan explores the connections between people, objects, and space, giving them physical form through details and materiality. Their collaboration emerges at the intersection of these two paths: the body in motion. Every individual participates simply by being present; the trajectories of individuals and collectives simultaneously generate sound, rendering the boundaries of movement visible.
The studio's name stems from the artists' shared gaze upon the body, consciousness, and the edges of the unknown: exploring at the fringes of the known, advancing toward the unfamiliar, and occasionally turning back to reflect. Though the steps may be unsteady, the resolve to move forward remains.
